Robin's Nest Ring

My daughter Kelsey was home visiting this weekend and yesterday we were looking at some jewelry magazines when she noticed a bird nest necklace.  She said "I've always loved these nests, I want to make one!"  Kelsey who rarely makes jewelry, but is a pretty inventive sort, looked through what I had on hand, chose three oval turquoise stone beads, and proceeded to start wrapping away with some 22 gauge silver wire. I left the room and came back five minutes later and she had magically whipped up this super cute robin's nest ring ~

Sad to say I was not there to witness the process, but she started by grouping the three beads together, and then just continued wrapping the wire around itself, and added a few silver jump rings. She finished it by wrapping a section for the ring.  This was done with very little use of tools as well.

Simple, adorable and perfect for spring!

Yes, it's finally spring, but it's been more like summer here in NH this past week.   Some of the sap buckets seem to have been removed from the maples already, and many of the sugar houses are having their open houses this weekend.  It's hard to know what season to focus on these days.  So, since anything goes, I thought I would just post a few stoneware pendants I recently listed on Etsy to celebrate spring, summer and fall:

I'm back from vacation...

 Lisa Petrillo! Congrats Lisa, and many thanks to all who left comments and for the follows on my Clayworks by Lisa Boucher Facebook page.

I had a chance to work on some new stoneware components while on vacation in Florida. Lots of summer and fall beads, pendants and more.  Once they're glazed I'll be sure to post them in my Clayworksnh Etsy shop.

Crafted from high fire tan speckled clay, and glazed with Coyote cone six glazes.  Sky of turquoise, and a sea of deep purple blue and teal, the seahorse and shell are lightly glazed to reveal their natural beauty and create a nice mix of textures.  Measuring 1 1/2' x 2", and glazed with teal on the reverse.
