I used a slab roller for the sushi plate, and the bowls & plates were thrown on the wheel. I painted the dragonflies, then applied wax resist before dipping them in white and blue glaze.  Please Click Here to Vote.  Of course check out the other contest entries!

It's officially fall, and the Jewelry Stringing 2014 Fall issue is on the stands.

It's time for the Etsy Mud Team "Go BIG or Go Home" Challenge!  Please check out all the entries, but I hope you'll vote for my Stoneware Dragonfly Pod Platter! :)

This stoneware piece was made using a slab roller. The design around the perimeter was made with impressions from a dried seed pod. I used wax resist to paint the dragonflies, and also applied it to the pod impressions. The reverse was then painted with wax resist before the platter was dipped in white and blue glaze.  The piece measures 14 1/4" in diameter.  Please click here to vote
